Anemone berlandieri

Common name: Ten-petal Anemone
Family name: Ranunculaceae- Crowfoot Family
Size: up to 40 cm long
Description: Upright or low, unbranched hairy


Flower:

  • 4 cm across
  • Sepals 10-20 petallike
  • Numerous stamens
  • Packed pistils cone-shaped
  • Can be white, pink, violet or blue
  • Flowers solitary at tip of long stalk
  • Closes when it gets dark
  • It rises from root

























































Leaves and stem:
  • stalked, mostly at the base
  • Blades divided into 3 leaflets long or toothed
  •  3 Leaf like  bracts attached halfway up the stem
  • Stems solitary from small tuber, without rhizomes or stolones present.
