Oenothera speciosa

Common name: Showy Primrose, Pink Evening Primrose
Family: Onagraceae- Evening primrose family
Size: Up to 50 cm
Description: Upright to spreads over the ground, grow together in groups
Habitat: Various soils, full sun.


























Flower:
  • Cup-shaped  shallow corolla (petals)
  • Dark rosy pink 4 petals with white and yellow in the center
  • With pink or red veins
  • Solitary from leaf axil
  • 7.5 cm across
  • Very delicate
  • Buds nodding, becoming erect as flowers open
























Leaves and stem:
  • Up to 7.5 cm long
  • Long, alternate, entire, lobed or cleft near base
  • Margins lobed, toothed or wavy
  • Stems 1 or many from base, branching in upper division
